wrath

the anatomy of wrath (vredens anatomi)
– premiere 2012 november, Norway.

Artistic Aim: Is to front, in raging and raving ways, nasty and witty, the sense of dignity Mankind fights for. The performance is dedicated to human effort, passion and love.

"The world is very very cruel, and very very beautiful"

The audience meets a story of strength, power and effort, the performance unveiling the sense of what it means to be living in the world of late – modern times. In entertaining, shocking and challenging ways, an audience is included in a meandering tale of fallacies, truths and sorrows for a man and more: How we choose to live, what is possible to enjoy and the desperate needs to explain.

"Come and I will tell you, of things unseen, and hidden,
and truthful yet".

The story speaks, in subtle ways, against late-modernity as entirely of the good: Pointing at the loss of emotions, the shallowness of ease, the lack of empathy, the boredom, the fury and rage lying underneath as the cruelty of modern life. The arrogance of modern civilised life is laughed at and scorned. The idleness of stupid issues are ridiculed. Scene by scene, odd situations develop, enhancing the ambiguity of modern living and its politely frosted cruelties. As an undercurrent runs the passionate and wild sense of life, in its purer sense occasionally it pushes to the surface, creating mocking and ravishingly beautiful images. The opulence of the set, the costumes and the rich performative shapes, give the production an overall lavish and otherwordly sense.
